Introduction

Thank you for downloading X-NetStat 5.1!

X-NetStat is a program that displays information on your current Internet and/or network connections, much like the console netstat.exe program, but in a graphical interface. These connections are established each time you visit a web page, send an ICQ message, or check your email. They also appear when outside computers attempt to connect to your machine, authorized or not.

Each connection is displayed in the connection table, where you can see the address you are connected to, what
ports (local and remote) are being used, the connection status, and how long the connection has been active.

The program should be especially useful for network administrators, and power users in general. We hope you find X-NetStat to your liking. Please feel free to email us with any feedback and comments.

How to use
===========

Click the "Refresh" button on the toolbar to update the list of connections. Connections will appear in the connection table, which takes up the majority of the window. Each connection will display the remote address, local and remote ports being used, connection status, and the time when X-NetStat first noticed the connection.

Double-click on a connection in the connection table to bring up the "Connection Info" window. Here, you can copy the connection's information to the clipboard.

Below the connection table is a list of open ports on your system.

To forcefully disconnect a connection, single-click on a connection in the list to highlight it, and then click the "Kill" button. The status bar on the bottom of the screen will tell you if the kill was successful.

To change the look, feel, and behavior of X-NetStat, click the "Options" button.

To minimize X-NetStat to the system tray, click the "Tray" button. A small XNS icon will appear in your system tray in the lower right corner of your screen. Double-click this icon to restore X-NetStat.

For help, about information, and registering, click the "Help" button and choose from the drop down menu.

How to register
================

X-NetStat is free to try for a period of 15 days. After this period, you must register or uninstall the program. The cost to register is $12 USD.

To register, click the "Help" button in X-NetStat and then click "Register". A new window will pop up with a hyperlink, and a place to enter a registration code. Click on this hyperlink, or, go to

in your web browser. You will be taken to a secure order form, which you can fill out online, mail, or fax. After completing this form, a registration key will be emailed to you within 48 hours.

Go into X-NetStat and enter the registration information (name & key), click OK, and the program will be registered.
